Digitally-Native Brands Delegate

We know brands (and agencies) are busier than ever, wearing a myriad of hats, including product development, marketing, creative, operations, media buyer and more.

That’s why we created Dillie.

What’s the Dillie?

How is Dillie different from an agency?
Dillie is a full-service creative production company taking a modernized approach to visual asset creation and digital media. We started as a niche product photography service for digitally-native beauty companies, and we have since expanded into video marketing, graphic design, branding, and AR filters.

Brands leverage Dillie to produce website content, scale social media creative outreach, and overall elevate their brand identity. Whether we produce Instagram ads, TikTok series, product page photos, or augmented reality experiences, we bring efficiency to an otherwise complex creative production process.

At Dillie, we approach production in a new light. We’re a modernized production company that keeps brands in the creative director’s seat and we allow internal teams to outsource production logistics to a cohort of expert producers, photographers, stylists, designers, DPs, directors, and more. We price per asset making it more seamless than ever for clients to order content, and we leverage our backgrounds in technology to bring a new-age approach to scaling visual content.

How do digitally-native brands thrive online and meet the endless demand for photos, videos, AR experiences, and copywriting? They delegate without losing creative control, and they partner with Dillie.

What type of clients partner with Dillie?
There are three main reasons clients approach Dillie. First, they have an in-house creative team and they need to scale their content. They have art directors, creative directors, photographers, and video editors in house, however, they’re not meeting deadlines and exponentially increasing output is out of reach for their current setup. Rather than losing creative control and outsourcing work to an agency, they partner with Dillie to complete a shot list, oversee the creative direction, all while outsourcing production logistics to Dillie’s team. It’s the ideal way to maintain creative control and scale visual assets.

Second, clients have recently launched brands with a small team and they’re looking for creative expertise. They know the powerful DTC route or catching the attention of a major retailer is not possible without custom, standout, engaging content. Content drives impressions and has a direct connection to increasing sales.

Third, clients were relying on inexpensive content creators or agencies to receive bulk photos and videos each month. However, the lower quality work was not supporting the brand’s expansion. When brands find temporary solutions with UGC or less experienced creatives, their content becomes lost in the sea of visuals online. This is when they switch to Dillie’s production services to take control of their creative, while still leveraging the ability to scale photo and video production without the extra work.

How do you help brands differentiate themselves from competitors?
Dillie avoids cookie-cutter content and develops custom visual assets. Rather than recreating the trending photos or videos we all see on Instagram, TikTok, and websites, we bring a modernized approach to defining creative production through our shot list template. Brands upload their style guides and we leverage the brand’s voice, colors, personality and more when we produce photos, videos, copy, and AR filters.

How has your agency evolved over the past five years?
Dillie started as a niche production service for beauty brands to produce product photos and videos for websites, social media, ads, and retailer partnerships. While Dillie still specializes in the beauty industry, we work across a number of industries including food, pets, home decor, technology, education and more. Dillie is now viewed as a go-to resource for high-end commercials, UGC-style TikToks, splash photography, slow-motion footage, video editing, website photography, graphic design, AR filters and more. In the past few years, we’ve jumped deeper into the world of augmented reality, and we’re helping beauty brands differentiate and tell their stories with more powerful methods. We’re excited to continue developing unique digital experiences to help brands thrive online.

Describe your agency’s creative process. How do you consistently put out great content?
Dillie developed a unique shot list template which enables clients to seamlessly communicate what they want, and for the creatives to understand what the client needs. Clients complete the shot list to note specifics in the pre-production process, rather than relying on changes in post-production. The shot list template has boxes for lighting, shadows, composition, props, crop, products featured, and the type of content or the content’s goal. We have a similar template for videos that goes into more detail with a storyboard, and additional aspects including CTA, text on screen, VO, camera angles and more.

What features highlight the experience of your team?
Our team has extensive experience in beauty branding, creative production, and technology. We’ve worked inside major beauty brands, and our core team met in the technology industry. Through our experience working in tech, we learned efficiencies in operations and we’ve leveraged these skills to offer the most seamless route for brands to produce creative content. In addition, we understand how brands are built, what brings success, the challenges, and the many hats individuals wear to turn a $1M brand into a $100M annual revenue powerhouse.

How do you infuse content with your client’s brand strategy?
Content is at the core of Dillie’s strategy to elevate a brand’s identity and to tell a cohesive story for long-term success. Content is king and content is in demand more than ever. From stylized photos and videos for Instagram, to leveraging product imagery to improve page rank on retailers’ sites, to keeping up with the dynamic trends on TikTok, brands need to scale content without losing creative control. Beyond the complexities to scale custom visuals, there are creative niches which call for various forms of expertise. The same creator who captures model closeups might not be the same creator who is specialized in capturing reflective products accurately. Our team members have specialities and this is why we can deliver top-quality work.

How will your creative and branding integrate with the overall marketing strategy?
Marketing is a form of communication and brands are highly visual communicators. We tell stories through dynamic photos: skincare products splashing into water for hydration messaging, or highlighting ingredients to convey clean products. Consumers are scrolling through Instagram, they’re served countless ads, and they have infinite product options across Target, Amazon, Sephora, Ulta and additional retailers. For brands to genuinely stand out, they need solid content to make a connection, and to pulse out visual reminders on why their products are lifestyle fits or solutions to problems.
